ROMANTIC ERA: WHAT IS IT?

The Romantic Era began in 1830 and ended in 1900. The music from this period has the same components as the music in the Classical period, except that it is more expressive and intense. It was started by Beethoven, who ironically ended the Classical Era. This time period was specific to the West. During this time composers made music that reflected more on their emotions unlike before when compsers made music that pleased the people and the church.
